Different characteristics of refrigeration effects between horizontal condenser and vertical condenser

There are many types of condensers, and the most commonly used ones are vertical condensers and horizontal condensers. Today, a simple comparison will be made between these two types of equipment; The horizontal condenser and the vertical condenser have different placement positions and water distribution, as well as different water temperature rise and water consumption. The cooling water of a vertical condenser flows down along the inner wall of the tube due to gravity, and can only have a single stroke. Therefore, in order to obtain a sufficiently large heat transfer coefficient K, a large amount of water must be used. The horizontal condenser uses a pump to send cooling water pressure into the cooling pipes, so it can be made into a multi-stage condenser, and the cooling water can obtain sufficient flow rate and temperature rise (Δ t=4-6 ℃). So a small amount of cooling water can be used to obtain a sufficiently large K value for a horizontal condenser. However, by excessively increasing the flow rate, the heat transfer coefficient K value does not increase significantly, while the power consumption of the cooling water pump increases significantly. Therefore, the cooling water flow rate for ammonia horizontal condensers is generally around 1m/s, while the cooling water flow rate for Freon horizontal condensers is mostly between 1.5-2m/s.
